Plastic steel doors and windows are widely popular for their excellent thermal insulation performance and cost-effectiveness. But its material properties determine that it requires special attention - preventing deformation and maintaining sealing. Master the following maintenance methods to make your plastic steel doors and windows more durable.

Core maintenance points:

Preventing deformation is the primary task:

Avoid high temperature and exposure to sunlight: Although plastic steel profiles are embedded with steel lining, prolonged exposure to high temperature may cause slight expansion and deformation of the profile surface, affecting sealing. Install sunshades near high-temperature sources (such as radiators) or in windows with severe exposure to sunlight in the west.

Proper cleaning: It is strictly prohibited to use organic solvents (such as gasoline, banana oil, acetone) during cleaning, as they can dissolve or corrode the surface of PVC profiles. Clean only with neutral detergent and a soft cloth. Avoid scratching with hard objects.

Do not hang heavy objects: It is strictly prohibited to hang heavy objects on window sashes to avoid deformation of the window frame and damage to hardware.

Key maintenance of sealing:

Cleaning sealing strip: Like aluminum alloy doors and windows, the sealing strip of plastic steel doors and windows is the key to air tightness and water tightness. Regularly wipe with clean water or neutral detergent to maintain its cleanliness and elasticity. Check for flattening, cracking, and detachment.

Pay attention to drainage holes: Drainage holes are usually designed under plastic steel window frames to drain rainwater. Be sure to keep the drainage holes unobstructed, regularly inspect and remove blocked sediment and debris, and prevent rainwater from flowing back and eroding the profiles and walls.

Maintenance of tracks and hardware:

Track cleaning: Plastic steel tracks also need to be kept clean and dry, and sand and dust should be cleaned in a timely manner, using the same method as aluminum alloy track cleaning (vacuum cleaner+soft brush+neutral cleaner+dry).

Hardware lubrication: Regularly check whether the hinges, actuators, locking points and other hardware components are flexible and tight. Add a small amount of lubricating oil to the moving parts every six months or so to ensure smooth operation of the switch.

The switch operation should be standardized:

When opening a casement window, avoid forcefully pushing or pulling the handle. Instead, grip the window frame and operate it.

When sliding the window, the force should be uniform to avoid excessive force on a single point causing the pulley to derail or the track to deform.

Special attention should be paid to avoiding high temperatures and chemical solvents from corroding the profiles. Clean the drainage holes once a quarter and check the condition of the sealing strips. Standardize operations and treat your plastic steel doors and windows gently.
